Our taught (mother) language

The book Our Taught (Mother) Language contains the material from the foundation lectures of the correspondence course on Hungarian as a Foreign Language (MID). The title refers to the fact that the majority of teachers teaching Hungarian teach their mother tongue, and the brackets are included because of the non-native Hungarian language teachers who not only learned our language but also chose to teach it as their profession. The book is divided into four main chapters, which partly discuss the two concepts (Hungarian as a Foreign Language - Hungarology), which consist of quite a lot of elements and sometimes provoke debate, and partly contain the most important knowledge about the institutional system created in connection with these two areas, which helps to achieve the goals of education - research - dissemination of knowledge - image formation. Each chapter contains questions and exercises that help you delve deeper and further think about the topic being discussed, and the fifth unit that concludes the book serves to test your knowledge in the form of a test consisting of 50 items and including a solution key.
