Description
This book is the first summary of Wataru Ohashi’s method of acupressure, ohashiatsu. The technique is a development of shiatsu, a traditional Japanese acupressure that focuses on the whole person with its holistic approach: it energizes the person being treated, not just treating the symptoms. Instead of theory, the emphasis is on practice, not primarily physical, but spiritual - much more like meditation than real work. Through harmonious, continuous motion, it affects not only individual pressure points, but entire meridians. Moreover, his technique is not only for the recipient of the treatment: he also places great emphasis on having a beneficial effect on the masseur through minimal effort. We can study each body position and correct posture in nearly three hundred photographs. The sections labeled “Not so” warn of the most common faulty postures and should therefore be avoided. On the meridian maps at the end of the volume, you can quickly and easily find each pressure point. Based on the detailed explanations, we can also get acquainted with terms unknown to Western culture step by step. Ohashi founded the world-famous Ohashi Institute in 1974, where he teaches Eastern doctrines and methods related to health. He also held further trainings in Hungary on several occasions.
