Aircraft motherships and aircraft carriers 1912-2005

The use of aircraft on a warship began in 1912, 94 years ago. In the nearly century that has passed since then, many types of ships have been developed to solve the task. The aircraft carrier carried and operated only seaplanes. The aircraft carrier is suitable for the operation of wheeled aircraft due to its embarkation and disembarkation, catapults and modern control equipment. The helicopter carrier mainly carried helicopters against the submarines and to support landing operations. Oblique cruisers, or submarine anti-submarine cruisers, were created essentially to eliminate the shortcomings of aircraft carrier technology. The volume lists these naval assets in a detail that has not been seen in the Hungarian military technical literature so far. The book is illustrated with pictures and structural drawings.
